Morning friends of the San Diego Eagle:
 
We start the month of May, this Friday, with the Knight of Leather 2009 Contest, starting at 9pm.
 
That will be followed on Saturday, May 2, with a Special Black Leather Affair, which begins at 9pm.  See below for comments from Mike Russell.
 
Then next week, Thursday, May 7, the Yellow Hankies guys gather for their first meeting of the month.

You know Mr. Mike! He's Mr. San Diego Eagle 2008.

He's our San Diego representative at this year's International Mr. Leather, IML, held in Chicago in just "Three Weeks!" And it costs!!!

So, we're getting together! All decked in leather! Just right for the weather! To help out a brother!   We're gonna raise the roof - and some monies!

Friends of The San Diego Eagle Host Black Leather Affair to Honor IML Contestants

Join Friends of The San Diego Eagle to Honor International Mr. Leather Contestants with A Special Black Leather Evening, Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 starting at 9PM - 3040 North Park Way , San Diego , CA., 92104.

From Steve Desdier in 1983 through Lee Butler in 2008 San Diego has been rich with history and representatives at International Mr. Leather - so while it's still nice and cool come celebrate and honor San Diego, and all, Leather History with an evening of your finest BLACK leather, rubber, fetish, or gear and help wish The San Diego Eagle's own 2008 Mr. San Diego Eagle, Mr. Mike Little, the best as he competes at International Mr. Leather 31 next month.

The evening will feature a beverage bust and snack mixer starting at 9PM, then add bootblacking, highlighted retro music, guest moments with former IML Contestants, background video presentation of previous IML Contests, community opportunity drawing hosted by The [NEW] San Diego Leatherboys, auction items, and drink specials through-out the evening.

A $5.00 suggested donation helps support Mr. San Diego Eagle 2008's IML Endowment Fund and The Leather Archives and Museum and gets you two opportunity drawing tickets, then get a voting ticket with each bar order to vote for the Hottest [use of] Black Leather (or Black Fetish attire) at 1AM.

This is not only a dress leather community honors event but a social mixer - If you think someone is really hot, strike up a conversation and give them your ticket(s), or if you think you're the hottest thing around hang on to your voting tickets and go meet other people and try to 'talk' them out of their tickets. Honors Award at 1AM to the person with the most tickets.  What's the award? Guess you'll just have to come play along and find out!

 ATTENTION ALL FORMER (and Current) IML CONTESTANTS:  Whether you competed from San Diego originally and no longer live in San Diego , or competed from some place else and now live here, if You are a former International Mr. Leather Contestant and will be in town we would be honored to have YOU there. This past Saturday night the San Diego Eagle was crowded with hot men for the monthly Underwear Party and Contest (every Fourth Saturday, 3040 North Park Way, San Diego, CA. starting at 10PM) who heard from MC and Internatinal LeatherSIR 2003, SIR Mike Russell, how Mr. San Diego Eagle 2008, "Mr. Mike" (Little), would be traveling to Chicago to represent The San Diego Eagle during an almost week of activities starting May 21, 2009.

The crowd listened as SIR Mike explained that the road to IML is not only a physically and emotionally challenging almost week of activities but how it has become more of a financial challenge each year with the increasing costs of hotels, food, and ground transportation once actually in Chicago - this year representing over $2500 in expenses.

Chainz", of www.HillcrestPawnbrokers.com, donated use of His cover and circulated it around the bar while SIR Mike explained the leatherman tradition of 'passing a cover' to help titleholders defray the costs of representing their title - thirty minutes later SIR Mike proudly announced that contributions had produced close to $150 for Mr. Mike's IML Endowment Fund and a very hearty 'THANK YOU" was shared by a barely-clad Mr. Mike.
